On my way back from the San Diego Jazz Festival this past weekend, my friend Kevin and I were jamming to Jill Scott's first live album Experience: Jill Scott 826+ and the career defining live performance of "Love Rain (Suite)," which for both of us was the standout from that live set.
While the recorded version of "Love Rain" is a solid cut from Jill's sublime debut album Who Is Jill Scott: Words & Sounds Vol. 1, the recorded version aptly entitled "Love Rain (Suite)" upped the ante so much on this cut that it stole the entire live recording in my book becoming a distinct moment is Jill's storied career.
