New Joint: "Quiet Storm" (Smokey Robinson ft. John Legend)

It's been a minute since the legendary Smokey Robinson released some new music and while the famed singer, songwriter, and producer isn't releasing new music per-say, his upcoming duets album Smokey & Friends, due August 19 via Verve Records is just as welcomed in my eyes.

Featuring collaborations with the likes of James Taylor, Sir Elton John, Steven Tyler, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, John Mayer, Miguel, Aloe Blacc, CeeLo, Ledisi and Jessie J, the album pulls from Smokey's vast discography of hits he's written as well as performed.

With that said, the first release from Smokey & Friends is the John Legend assisted ballad "Quiet Storm," which was originally featured on Smokey's 1975 album A Quiet Storm and spawned the phenomena of quiet storm music listening.

Take a listen to "Quiet Storm" via Smokey Robinson and John Legend below and Enjoy!
